Information Processing in Medical Imaging (IPMI) is a conference held every two years focused on the fields of applied mathematics, computer science, image processing and image analysis (particularly of medical images); applied results in neuroscience, cardiology, and microscopy are also frequently considered. IPMI is the longest standing conference focused on medical images having first met, organized by Dr. Francois Erbsmann, in Brussels in 1969. The 30th IPMI is scheduled to be held in Lake Stukely, QC, Canada, from June 27 to July 02, 2027.
IPMI runs since 1969, gathering core lead researchers and young students in medical image analysis.
IPMI showcases presentations with unlimited-time questions and discussions within study groups
IPMI has a cap of 120 participants, ensuring quality of papers, reviews by community leaders, and work impact.
Established in 1969 by Francois Erbsmann, the biennial Information Processing in Medical Imaging (IPMI) conference, originally focused on nuclear medicine, now unites a broad community for medical image computing, alternating between North America and Europe. Characterized by a single track of in-depth presentations and unlimited discussion, IPMI is limited to 120 participants to foster rigorous debate and community building, often held in a remote location with communal housing and activities.
